Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms

All Landlords are obliged to provide working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in any rental property.

The regulations require a smoke alarm to be installed on each storey of the premises on which there is a room used wholly or partly as living accommodation.

Also a carbon monoxide detector should be installed in any room of the premises which is used wholly or partly as living accommodation and contains a solid fuel burning combustion appliance – i.e. a gas boiler, gas stove or gas fire.

There is a huge array of alarms available on the market. Here at ESS we have identified some of the most suitable market leading alarms and can provide appropriate alarms for out clients.

  • Adam Comiskey of Expert Survey Solutions emailed me with a very professional offer, some helpful advice. I subsequently booked Mr Comiskey.

He gave me a list of requirements in advance, called to apologise when he got stuck in traffic which delayed his arrival slightly, and provided lots of useful advice during and after the survey.

He was an absolute pleasure to deal with and delivered the EPC on time, and followed up a note of thanks for the business and some further tips on recommendations. Jeremy - Hertfordshire
